Have you ever wanted to research a teaching philosophy? Have you ever wanted to use research based methods to improve teaching and learning?
In this learning community we will be introduced with the concept of Teaching-as-Research projects. We will be gathering twice a month from 12-1 PM in Woolf Hall 200 (refreshments will be provided). We will be exploring the following topics:
- 8 February– Introduction to TAR
- 22 February – TAR project and resources (time is at 1-2PM)
- 8 March – IRB approval
- 22 March – TAR projects
- 5 April – Brainstorming TAR Projects
- 19 April – Brainstorming TAR Projects
The outcomes from this Learning Community is to introduce the concept of TAR projects, how to formulate research questions, where to get resources, what to expect from the IRB approval process, and how to carry out a TAR project among many other things. Join our community as we work together and learn from each other to further improve teaching and learning. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
There is funding available for those who decide to carry out a TAR project. Please fill out the link provided (TAR funding) and contact Shashank Kumat (firstname.lastname@example.org).
