Next month we're running an online workshop on building effective advisor-advisee relationships featuring experts from UW-Madison, Penn State New Kensington, Kansas State University, and NACADA, the National Academic Advising Association.

Faculty Advising: What You Need to Know and How to Do It Well (Online Workshop)
August 8 at 11AM-1PM ET / 10AM-12PM CT / 9-11AM MT / 8-10AM PT
Advising students is a key role that many faculty play in addition to engaging students in the classroom or mentoring them in research settings. This workshop is designed to help future and current faculty learn how to build effective advisor-advisee relationships, and why they matter. This workshop has no enrollment cap; register by August 7 to take part.

Learning Community Builder Grant
Are you interested in receiving a Learning Community Builder (LCB) Grant of $500 (one time)? CIRTL-UTA is accepting applications for LCB grant for fall 2018. Please submit your application here.

Deadline for LCB Grant application is September 04, 2018.

Teaching as Research (TAR) Grant
CIRTL-UTA is currently seeking motivated applicants for Teaching-As-Research (TAR) Project Grants, where you will have the opportunity to formally test student learning outcomes and various teaching methods.

We encourage team applications, and student/post doc/faculty partnerships. Students can apply for $500 grants for Teaching-as-Research project. Students completing a major milestone of the project such as collecting/analyzing large amounts of data or preparing for publication/presentation are eligible for CIRTL STEM Teaching Certification.

There is NO DEADLINE for submitting TAR grant applications.
