The CIRTL Network
Registration closes today for summer cross-network programming
Registration for CIRTL's summer cross-network offerings is closing at the end of the day today. (Note: this doesn't apply to in-person institutes, which have independent registration periods.)
Although programming is filling up quickly, there are still spots open in this semester's two courses.
The Online Teaching Practicum is a new CIRTL offering for future faculty who have had some previous teaching experience and are looking for a mentored teaching opportunity.
Developing a CV or Resume was offered last year as a workshop and is returning this summer as a short course.
More info is provided below.

Summer 2019 Online Courses
Courses have live, real-time online sessions and require regular homework outside of those class meetings. Short courses typically meet weekly for one to two months, while full courses typically meet for two to three months. Registration is required; STEM grad students and postdocs from CIRTL institutions receive enrollment priority.
Online Teaching Practicum
Wednesdays, May 29-June 24: 2-4:00 PM ET / 1-3:00 PM CT / 12-2:00PM MT / 11AM-1:00PM PT
The Online Teaching Practicum is a unique opportunity for future faculty who lead teaching workshops at their local institutions to prepare and propose to teach a one- or two-part online workshop for the national CIRTL Cross-Network Learning Community (CNLC). Previous experience facilitating teaching development workshops is a prerequisite for enrollment in this course.
Developing a CV or Resume
Thursday 6/20, Tuesday 6/25, & Thursday 6/27: 2-3:30PM ET / 1-2:30PM CT / 12-1:30PM MT / 11AM-12:30PM PT
In this course, become familiar with the formats, purposes, and structures of various academic and professional CVs, through individual and group reviews of exemplary documents, and through drafting a long-form CV and a shorter document (NSF or NIH biosketch, or non-academic resume). Learn about opportunities to highlight the attainment of CIRTL learning outcomes and achievement levels in such documents.
